“All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” — Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina.

You’re invited to join us for a meeting on the theme of family, love and conflict from our Melting Point cycle on the nature and meaning of conflict. On this occasion, the cycle’s curator Marat Atnashev has invited Alexander Roitman to share his perspective.

Alexander Roitman is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. From 2005 to 2016 he was a certified supervisor for the Russian Psychotherapeutic Association (RPA). He is the founder of the Roitman Centre; the creator and host of the Roitman’s Marathon series; the creator of the Roitman’s Algorithm practical seminar; a certified coach in Israel; and last but not least, the happily married father of five children.

The basis of Roitman’s projects is groupwork, and so the event is more than just a conversation: it involves group interaction with an experienced facilitator. We’ll try to discover whether families can be happy today. What makes a family happy? What roles do love and conflict play in a happy family? What does freedom mean within family relationships? And can you build a “happy enough” family on “good enough” relationships without love or conflict? Together, we’ll try to discover the route to family happiness.
If you would like to ask a question or have your case analysed anonymously, please give a brief description and we will pass it on to Alexander.
