Some have suggested that women are not simply fighting for equal rights but want to “own” those rights — and so as soon as equality is achieved they will start to aspire to dominance. So what is it that women are actually fighting for? What needs to happen for equality to be achieved? What changes in society might this lead to and are we ready for them? Is matriarchy a utopia or a reality? We will be discussing all this at the event, and also talking about gender as a social construct.
